Q01Can I work while studying?
Degree-programme students on Stamp 2 can work up to 20 hours per week during term and up to 40 hours per week in the set holiday periods. The cap is checked at renewal, so keep within it.
Q02How much money do I need to show?
ISD wants evidence of immediate access to living funds alongside paid course fees, not a sudden lump-sum deposit. Season the account for several months and document any large transfers in your cover letter.
Q03What happens after I graduate?
Eligible graduates can switch to the Stamp 1G Third Level Graduate Scheme to seek employment in Ireland: 12 months at level 8 and up to 24 months at level 9 and above.
Q04Does a language course qualify?
Only if it is on the ILEP list and meets the full-time attendance and duration rules. Short courses under three months usually need a short-stay C visa instead, with no work rights and no IRP.
